Road projects, development schemes approved for several districts of Punjab

The Planning and Development (P&D) Board has authorized six development schemes across emergency services, road and bridges, sports, and irrigation sectors, as per a recent news report on November 29.

Chaired by Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, the meeting sanctioned various road development schemes totaling PKR 9.504 billion, including:

  • Approval for Arifwala Bypassconstruction valued at PKR 784.908 million
  • An interchange construction on Khanewal-Lodhran Roadcosting PKR 2.731 million
  • Strengthening Emergency Services across Punjab districts, with a budget of PKR 756.851 million
  • Establishing Cricket High-Performance Headquartersin Faisalabad (PKR 1.245 billion) and Sialkot (PKR 1.323 billion)
  • Enhancement of water delivery and conveyance efficiency through the concrete lining of irrigation channels in District Performance & Conveyance Efficiency-II, estimated at PKR 2.663 billion

Simultaneously, Chairman Iftikhar Ali Sahoo inspected the controlled access corridor projects from Niazi Interchange to Saggian Interchange and from Saggian Interchange to Babu Sabu Interchange. During the visit, LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed briefed on the progress of these major projects at Babu Sabu.
