RDA inaugurates two new RO plants to ensure the provision of clean drinking water

According to news released on October 18, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has commenced the operation of two reverse osmosis (RO) facilities adjacent to Qari Khushi Mohammad Park and the Education Complex on Murree Road. As per the details, this initiative has the primary objective of furnishing clean drinking water to the local residents.

Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta revealed the RO facilities, which were established as part of a collaborative effort between the RDA and the Saylani Welfare International Trust.

Earlier, the two organizations entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy RO facilities at multiple sites across Rawalpindi. The installation of these RO plants incurred an approximate cost of PKR 1.4 million, and the project reached completion in just two months.

At the inauguration ceremony, the commissioner underscored the significance of conscientious water usage, considering it a blessing from Allah. He encouraged the public to refrain from squandering water. This lauded the Saylani Welfare Trust for its dedication to setting up more water filtration facilities.

Delegates from the welfare trust revealed their intentions to deploy. Further water filtration installations at different sites within the next two to three months.

Saif Anwar Jappa, the Director General of RDA, placed significant emphasis on the fact that the RO facilities were establishing with the citizens’ well-being in mind. These plants poised to furnish clean drinking water to numerous government employees and the neighboring communities.

He further emphasized that the RO plant project aligns with RDA’s ongoing welfare endeavors and expressed their commitment to continuing similar initiatives.

Jappa also brought to light an agreement with the Saylani Welfare International Trust to activate 15 tube wells. These tube wells are belonging to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). Moreover, the ultimate objective of ensure a clean and easily accessible water supply for the populace.
