LDA Takes Action Seals 22 Properties in Lahore

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has taken severe action against unauthorized housing societies within Lahore. In particular, the authority has taken action by sealing more than 22 properties in Allama Iqbal Town. Non-compliance with commercialization fees and issuing stern warnings to negligent property proprietors.

The closed properties encompassed a range of illicit enterprises such as private banks, grocery stores, shopping centers, and food establishments. All of these failed to meet their commercialization fee responsibilities.

Prior to this operation, the LDA had issued multiple notifications to take action on property owners, urging them to fulfill their financial responsibilities. According to the report, the operation was conducted by a team led by Shah Mir Iqbal, Additional Director General (ADG) Housing, along with Sidra Tabassum, Chief Town Planner-I, and Ahmad Saeed Sultan, Director of Town Planning-II. The operation received essential support from enforcement teams and local police.

Furthermore, DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed the initiation of a thorough investigation into encroachments, violations of by-laws, and unauthorized commercial use. The official emphasized the LDA’s commitment to upholding sustainable urban planning standards and enhancing financial guidelines in Lahore.
