In FY 2023-24, CDA achieved a milestone by generating PKR 52 Billion, surpassing its target by 23%. The major factor behind this revenue generation is shifting to alternative revenue resources rather than relying on sales assets. This success has made CDA financially stable and ambitious in planning versatile revenue generation strategies for the year ahead.
Besides, CDA is also making some serious efforts to beautify the city and improve the overall infrastructure. The beautification project includes installing cultural sculptures, landscaping major roads, and redesigning median strips.
Moreover, the authority plans to introduce recreational facilities and a digital parking system. The recreational facilities include building 4 new modern cinemas and improving the residents’ living standards. The meeting also included measures for overseas Pakistanis. Infrastructure projects in E-12 are sped up following the removal of illegal encroachments.
In addition, the appointment of a transaction advisor for IT Park in sector G-10 was also approved during the meeting. The board also directed the presentation of the feasibility report for the Islamabad Bus Terminal with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Engagement of Public-Private Partnership authority in providing technical assistance and advisory support to various projects has also been approved.
Understanding the city’s sewerage condition, the board announced creating a City Sewerage Division. This division will work under the administrative control of the Director General of Water Management to improve the sewerage treatment system.
