RWP Master Plan: Map for land classification approved

The District Planning and Design Committee (DPDC) gave the green light to the “land classification map” to complete Rawalpindi’s (RWP) much-awaited master plan, as reported in a news article on December 3rd.

According to the article, a senior official disclosed that MMP had completed the “land use classification plans” for six tehsils: Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, Taxila, Murree, Kotli Sattian, and Kahuta.

However, the declaration of Murree as a new district caused a halt in the work on land use classification plans for Murree and Kotli Sattian. The local government administrators in Rawalpindi (RWP) already given their approval for the preparation of the master plan in their respective areas.

The endorsed land classification map, focused on settlement (build-up area). This will the basis for the consultant to create a development plan that aligns with the new land classification (zoning) in Rawalpindi district. Once notified, the RDA plans to initiate the establishment of an economic zone around the Rawalpindi Ring Road upon the completion of the master plan.
