Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif suggested Turkiye to join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The purpose of that is to promote regional development, relieve poverty, and empower people through improved education and health care.
The prime minister, addressing a joint press stakeout with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said Pakistan has been “experiencing and enjoying” the advantages of the CPEC under Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The prime minister began his address by expressing sorrow for the recent terror event in Istanbul.
He stated that having lost hundreds of lives to terrorism, Pakistan understood the Turkish people’s feelings. He appealed for concerted efforts to eradicate terrorism, not only in Pakistan and Turkey but across the world.
