Lahore, August 8, 2024: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved a substantial budget of PKR 96.16 bn for the fiscal year for developmental and social welfare projects.

According to the details, Pkr 59.18 bn is allotted to LDA’s urban development wing, Pkr 34.5 bn to the water and sanitation agency, and Pkr 2.49 bn to the Traffic Engineering & Planning Agency (TEPA).
The DG LDA, Mr. General Tahir Mahmood, briefed the members in the presence of Vice Chairman Mr. Mian Marghub Ahmad. Furthermore, the meeting concluded with the approval of several projects, including classification & reclassification of the 8 major roads in Lahore, amendments in LDA’s property transfer regulations 2023, and management of properties of LDA’s lease right regulations 2024.
The meeting also covered other key projects like;
- the development of new housing schemes and the improvement of existing ones,
- public welfare projects, including improving healthcare facilities
- improving educational institutes (constructing new and upgrading existing ones)
