Punjab, August 26, 2024: “Apni chahat Apna Ghar Scheme” is one of the most sought-after projects recently announced by CM Punjab Mariyam Nawaz. The initiative aims to provide affordable housing to the middle and lower classes.
The online portal is launched to receive the application, ensuring transparency and streamlined processing. As per details, applicants should have a 5-marla plot in urban areas or 10-marla in rural areas. Initially, the government will provide PKR 15 lacs to eligible applicants. Besides, the scheme also offers a 3-month grace period, which means no payment for 3 months.

In addition, the monthly installment would be 14,000 PKR, which sounds affordable. The “Apni Chahat Apna Ghar Scheme” will be implemented across the major cities of Punjab. The houses built under this scheme will have 2 bedrooms, a TV lounge, a bathroom, and a good-sized kitchen.
Eligibility Criteria for Apni Chahat Apna Ghar
| 1 | The applicant should be the head of his/her beta (nucleus) family per the NADRA record. |
| 2 | Applicant is a permanent resident of Punjab as per his/her CNIC. |
| 3 | Applicant is the sole owner and possessor of a parcel measuring 5 Marla or less in urban areas and land upto 10 Marla in rural areas anywhere in Punjab on the date of online application submission, wherein he/she intends to build his/her house. |
| 4 | Furthermore, the applicant should not have a criminal record, such as being convicted for anti-state, anti-social activities, or heinous crimes. |
| 5 | Applicant should not be a loan defaulter of any financial institution/ bank, etc. |
| 6 | The applicant is registered with the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) in a household with a PMT score of 60 or less. |
How do I apply for the “Apni Chahat Apna Ghar?”
- Visit the official website
- Register yourself on the Citizen Registration Form
- Now login to your account using your CNIC Number and Password
- Next, fill in the certificate, tick mark the conditions, and press proceed
- Fill in some information regarding your property; fill it out as per the prompts, attach the picture, and click next.
- Attach the required documents, and you will complete the application process.
