The project is part of the Sindh government’s agenda to tackle the increasing crime rates, create a safer environment for residents, and improve emergency response times.

The project will be rolled out in multiple phases. The initial focus is on installing surveillance equipment and building the infrastructure for city-wide monitoring. In addition, thousands of CCTV cameras in strategic locations are expected in the first phase. The authorities will build control and command centers to improve the efficiency of surveillance.

Integration of facial recognition technology will ensure the identification of suspects involved in street crimes. The project will also include advancing traffic management in the city and upgrading the communication system between law enforcement agencies.

According to a Sindh Safe City Authority spokesperson, “The Karachi Safe City Project is not just about surveillance; it’s about creating a safer, more efficient city for our citizens. By utilizing the latest technologies, we aim to reduce crime, improve traffic flow, and enhance Karachi’s overall quality of life.”

Once the project is fully operational, the city’s crime rate will significantly reduce, providing peace to residents and the business community in the region. The project will also help increase tourism in the region, attract investors, and contribute to economic stability.
