Islamabad, November 10, 2024: President Asif Ai Zardari approved two important bills. (i) the Special Court (overseas Pakistani Property) Bill 2024 and (ii) the Deposit Protection Corporation Amendment Bill 2024. The purpose is to safeguard the citizen’s financial and property interests.

According to the details, the Special Court (Overseas Pakistani Property) bill is enacted to protect the property rights of overseas Pakistanis. The dedicated courts will resolve the property dispute cases of citizens residing outside Pakistan.
Moreover, the dedicated courts are also required to resolve cases within 90 days of filing. This government effort will be a sigh of relief for the overseas Pakistanis who were longing for a streamlined justice process. To further facilitate the overseas Pakistanis, the court will offer an online complaint filing system.
The senate members praised the historic step taken by the president for overseas Pakistanis. They believe this facilitating step will strengthen the bond between Overseas Pakistanis and their homeland.
The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development stated, “This act facilitates swift and efficient resolution of property disputes involving overseas Pakistanis.”
