On Wednesday, the temporary chief minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi instructed LDA to finish the Samanabad Morr Underpass project by April 15, 2023.

Minister directed LDA and other organizations to make a strategy for working on the project continuously. He emphasizes that early completion of the project is mandatory for the Samanabd underpass – CM Mohsin Naqvi

Fast completion is mandatory

Moreover, he advised the departments to employ all available means to guarantee the project’s prompt completion. He continued by saying that fast project completion will make travel easier to emphasize that early completion is mandatory for the Samanabad Underpass-CM Mohsin Naqvi.

Further, the minister gave the authorities the go-ahead to develop an efficient plan to keep traffic moving while the project is ongoing. Residents of Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Tauheed Park, Multan Road, Chaubarji, and other areas would benefit from the Samanabad Underpass.

Cost of project

Additionally, the 400-meter Samanabad underpass will cost Rs. 2.3 billion to complete. Previously, the completion date was September 30, 2023. The chief minister, however, has mandated its early completion.

Furthermore, the Punjab government has decided to speed up the project’s completion. It has decided due to due to the inconvenience it has caused the residents of Samanabad, Gulshan-i-Ravi, and the neighboring districts.

The building project got underway on December 15.

“At this moment, one-fourth of the piling work has been finished, and they have scheduled other works for completion” LDA Chief Engineer (II) Mazhar Hussain Khan stated.

Light and heavy freight may easily move over the 5.1-meter-high, 400-meter-long underpass.

The project also includes expanding the highways leading from Gulshan-i-Ravi and Samanabad to Multan Road (Chauburji and Thokar). It will result in the relocation of utilities and services such as gas, PTCL, Was a (drainage pipeline), and electrical (poles, wires, etc.).

LDA Director General Aamir Ahmad Khan said, “We will not compromise on the caliber of construction work. He gave strong instructions for the project laborers to adhere to all safety precautions and SOPs.
