A property can look close to everything on a map and still feel inconvenient on an ordinary working day. The difference often lies in the route: the turns, the entry point and the distance between the main road and the home itself.
The Capital Smart City interchange deserves attention for that reason. A dedicated motorway connection changes how people can approach the development. For a buyer, its real significance becomes clearer when the route is traced all the way to the property being considered.
The milestone on record
Capital Smart City’s official event archive records a celebration of the dedicated interchange opening on the Lahore-Islamabad M2 Motorway dated 24 July 2024. This provides a dated reference for the project’s connectivity story.
The interchange is part of the access picture. The internal road network, the position of a particular block and the approach to the property complete it. When comparing locations, it helps to separate reaching Capital Smart City from reaching the actual house, plot or commercial unit.
How access can influence a property decision
For a family, access affects the routine they must repeat. For a business, it can influence how customers, staff and suppliers reach the premises. For an overseas Pakistani, a straightforward arrival route can be important when considering how the property will be used during visits or after returning home.
These are practical advantages to explore, rather than a reason to assume the same outcome for every property. Distance from the entry point, the surrounding development and the destination of the journey all matter.
A commercial location also needs to be assessed through its own catchment and activity. A motorway connection alone does not establish the footfall outside a shop or occupancy within an office building.
Make the route comparison specific
| Journey element | What to establish |
| Motorway connection | The approach relevant to your direction of travel. |
| Internal route | The road from the project entrance to the specific property. |
| Regular destinations | The routes to work, education, family or business locations. |
| Travel-time claim | The measured origin, destination, date, time and conditions. |
Why the last part of the journey matters
A project-wide travel-time claim may leave out the internal journey. It may also reflect lighter traffic than the buyer normally experiences. A useful route comparison records the starting point, destination, date and conditions of the journey.
For example, a household comparing two blocks should test the same destination under broadly similar conditions. The result becomes a comparison they can use, rather than two unrelated numbers in separate advertisements.
This is particularly helpful when choosing between a property for immediate occupation and one intended for a later move. The present access arrangement and the future road plan should both be understood, with their different timelines made clear.
Let RBS help you examine the full journey
When arranging your visit, tell RBS the locations that matter to you. That may be your workplace, a family address or another destination you expect to use regularly. Include the property type and block you are considering.
Ask to see the approach to the property as part of the viewing. For a remote discussion, request a dated route video or a clearly annotated map, with any travel measurement explained.
Contact RBS to arrange a property visit with the access questions included in the itinerary. A good location should make sense when you travel the route yourself.
