Justice Shahid Karim issued these orders while he presided over the petition filed by Abdul Rehman and others to challenge the Lahore Master Plan 2050.

According to sources, the petitioners argue that the conversion of agricultural land into urban areas in Lahore lacks proper justification. Further, they contend that the implementation of the plan will lead to the removal of numerous trees. It will result in further environmental degradation for the city.
